I may have to explain how technology was advanced in Vigilance but that would be better for a technical manual to go along with it.
The technology in that story is fairly conservative, with the only 'fantastical' elements being some of the alien technology such as A.I. missiles and mind-machine interfaces for control of equipment through thought. Fission and fusion engines for ships, carbon nanotubes for structural material, no FTL communication (the closest thing to it are microwave signals sent through the stable wormholes that make up the 'web' of jump routes but it still takes hours and sometimes days for messages to get from point A to point B) and missiles and neutral particle beams being the main offensive weapons of warfare with lasers being used for defense (anti missile/anti micro-meteorite) and kinetic weapons for orbital bombardment.

Covering all of the technology present in such a time period from the cars of the period to the most advanced warships would be as long or longer than the story is now lol.

Probably impossible. Maybe a multi-generational story where each chapter is a new generation and the technology advances tooo.

I will see. Maybe for my next novel. A prequel to Vigilance perhaps.

Making technological development the story's main plot point would be hard, unless it is some kind of theme about the dangers of technology, but I am not a luddite (a term for someone who is against technological advancement) lol.

Still, if someone could do comedy... a Hitchhikers Guide type story might be a good one. I doubt I could do comedy.

I have never done comedy before. That is something that would need to be reviewed by several people as the story is being written to make sure it is humorous. At least for a first time comedy writer like me, if I ever do that.
