Be it books, TV, Movies, comic books, novels or even video games.
Star Trek is at the top for me, even the books.
I also liked the original Battlestar Galactica, use to watch it all the time.
But I find that a lot of the SF I like best is in novels. From Isaac Asimov, Arthur C Clarke, Orson Scott Card to lesser known science fiction writers.

The best sci-fi I have read has been novels as well. Still, I do like classic Star Trek.

Except for Piers Anthony I usual like just about any kind of science fiction I tried to read though one of Piers Anthony's novels, called Dead Mourn, but I could not finish it. Hard sci-fi is my favorite sub-genre of sci-fi, but a good story always trumps attention to physics so I can pretty much read most sci-fi too.

I like novels by: L. Neil Smith, J. Neil Schulman, (both rabidly pro-RKBA), Robert Heinlein, Orson Scott Card, Tom Kratman, S.M. Stirling, John Ringo, David Weber and C.J. Cherryh. Also the Edgar Rice Burroughs novels which are still a rip-roaring read after all these years.
TV Shows: Babylon 5, Doctor Who, Battlestar Galactica, Irresponsible Captain Tylor, Evangelion, Mobile Suit Gundam (original series), Legend of Galactic Heroes
Movies: Star Wars series, the Star Trek reboot, Iron Man, Equilibrium, Scanners, Altered States, Alien, Ghost in the Shell, Akira, The Incredibles, The Fifth Element
Comics: Judge Dredd and other 2000AD stuff, the Akira manga, Y the Last Man, The Watchmen )(despite the left-bias), Planetes, Pluto: Urasawa x Tezuka, the original Alex Raymond run of Flash Gordon, and to represent the good European stuff, the Valerian & Laureline series which had alien bars full of scum and villainy before George Lucas ever thought of it, the Yoko Tsuno series, and the Tintin books which have sci-fi themes occasionally. The latter is good for kids. You'll have to wade through a bit of left-bias in those as well, but the characterizations are spirited enough to make it worthwhile.

OK, Cambrian wins!
I haven't really read comics since I was a kid. I know I'm probably missing out on some good stuff. I heard they're making Ender Game graphic novels and stuff. That could be cool.

Planetes by Makoto Yukimura is a good read. It sort of reminds me of Heinlein at his best, and knocks the stuffing out of loony terrorist groups as well.

Books? Phillip K. Dick. Nuff" said.
I don't watch T.V. so I'll skip that stuff.
Movies? The Thing, the original version. Great dialog.
Comics? Nexus. The greatest sci-fi/space adventure ever drawn...that no one has ever heard of. Also has great dialog.
I used to read Heavy Metal, but it went down hill about 12 years ago and it never really got over F.A.K.K.2. I don't even know if it's published anymore.
On a side note, what the Hell is RKBA?

RKBA= Right to Keep and Bear Arms
Nexus? Never heard of it. I might try and look around for it when I get a chance. The Thing? Like from the Addams Family? I am just kidding. I probably saw it and forgot it because of all the jumble piled ontop of it mentally.
Heavy Metal probably never caught attention from the title, I avoid music. heh.

I think H.M. never went beyond cult status because it could never lose its core readership of craven masturbaters and nerdlingers. That and it eventually showcased only Yurrup'peon artists.
But Nexus, written by Mike Baron and drawn by Steve Rude is a comic from the 80's and 90's. It's well worth looking for. It's brilliant.
And I'm still waiting for the next Buckaroo Banzai movie to come out.

After reading four of his books, John Ringo is definitely my favorite sci-fi author right now. He rights extremely good military fiction, and never wastes a chance to slam leftists.

John Ringo.
I found some of his stuff at the Baen Books site, samples and free ebooks and stuff. Among others.
