I initially learned of Tom Kratman when I read an excrept of State of Disobedience (about a second American Civil War fought against a barely-disguised Hillary Clinton villain). State of Disobedience was good, if a little bit too optimistic about the country staying so united (When civil wars DON'T split countries permanently, they leave both sides divided and bitter for years and sometimes decades. Finland from 1918 to 1939 is a prime example of this) and was a little light on characterization. Caliphate on the other hand is much better through and through. The descriptions are better, the characters are better developed and does a very good job depicting life under Sharia Law. Some scenes can be quite disturbing, but they are essential to showing just how bad that system is. You can read the first six chapters here: www.webscription.net/chapters/A1416555455/A1416555455.htm

www.enemiesforeignanddomestic.com/Matt Bracken wrote and self-published a trilogy that you might find interesting. The "sample chapters" are huge parts of the books. I even bought the first one.

Disturbing but every bit as cautionary of tale as George Orwell's nineteen eighty four.
I will be reading Tom Kratman's A Desert Called Peace next which explores the same themes but depict's a man's revenge against the jihadists for the murder of his wife and child.

Matt Bracken's books look good from what I have read so far. Thanks for the link.
