I have been watching a lot of Korean programs and movies online and I have to say I am hooked. However I am not happy with the dearth of Korean science fiction.
The closest I have seen to sci-fi is "Secret Garden" where the main characters mystically switch bodies and now "49 Days" where a girls body is in coma and her spirit meets a reaper, but it wasn't her time and gives her a task to complete if she wants to go back to living, he gives her 49 Days. Obviously.
So now I find myself writing a story with Korean characters about a mysterious object that changed course twice to reach Earth and then crashed on a mountain 40 miles from Seoul.
A girl without a memory is found near the impact site and is the only thing that was found there. She turns out to be fully human, with human DNA and everything else. The mysterious girl didn't even talk at first but soon seemed to pick up the language and gave them her name.
Meanwhile a lonely orphan boy who is 18 and just finishing up his last days of high School has been having strange dreams about a girl he didn't know. Since he doesn't have an imagination he cannot believe he made her up and she is in every dream.
Raising himself since he was abandoned by his abusive father he never had any imagination and always dismissed emotions, they were good for nothing as far as he was concerned. Until these feelings became so strong that they felt as if they were real.
He also began to see initials carved in walls or other things wherever he went. TGK, sometimes in hangeul and sometimes in english. One day he sees a set of initials and feels pulled to it, then he hears a girls voice telling him to make contact.
When he touches the initials he feels a jolt through his body and then a burning sensation. He walks away shaking his arm but soon forgets the whole encounter.
The media had been going crazy about the asteroid that had changed course and crashed nearby and then it found out about the mysterious girl found near it.
The boy, Dong Ji-Woo was finally getting a chance to watch TV between odd jobs when the news broke. The anchor said the girl should be left alone "she is not an alien, she is fully human and has human DNA and a full MRI had shown no anomolies". The anchor also said the girl had a name and showed a drawing of the girl and announced she was "Tae Ga-Ku"
Dong Ji-Woo nearly fell off the couch. It was the girl from the dreams and the name matched the initials. It was definitely not his imagination, and that girl was definitely not just a normal girl.
.....
That is where I am at so far. It's not like I plan things ahead of time. lol.
