Hey, does anyone like these low-budget episodes that James Cawley produces? I do!
Just google startreknewvoyages.com
They have made 7 or 8 episodes

Here is a question. What if we could get a few thousand scifi fans to donate for the purpose of producing an all-original, non-Trek, web show? Even if we could only make a dozen episodes per year it would be huge.

I watched the first episode. It was very good and very true to the classic show (which I like better than Next Generation).
And yes, it would be cool. Especially if a show like Firefly was produced this way. A show that is not biased like later seasons of the newer Battlestar Galactica would be great as well.

There are other fan-produced shows but they are not allowed to sell anything, because Paramount owns all rights. Some use all greenscreens. New Voyages/Phase II have actual replica sets, the bridge is an exact duplicate.
If someone could gather a few thousand fans for an all-original show who were willing to pay a few bucks a month, it'd be interesting. NV/Phase-II production costs run to $15,000 a show, because they use real sets instead of 100% CGI, although Lightwave 3D is pretty awesome.
Something to think about.
