The cost per pound for the space shuttle was 10,000 dollars. 50 dollars is cheaper than dirt and within the realm of mountain climbers, high end amateur astronomers. I hope Space X brings costs down even further so we can see sub-orbital passenger travel, space hotels and new manned missions to the moon and mars.

Yes it will.
In Robert Heinlein's book Friday, airline travel has been replaced by semi-ballistic space planes. They accelerate onto a suborbital trajectory and then freefall all the way to the landing site.
